County Judge Nelson Wolff to deliver address at fall commencement

Retiring Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff will deliver the address at fall commencement on Thursday at Freeman Coliseum.

Wolff has served as county judge since 2001. He will leave office at the end of December after serving the county for more than two decades. He also served as San Antonio mayor from June 1991 through June 1995.

Nearly 300 graduates will receive their diplomas during the ceremony, which starts at 5 p.m.

Posthumous degrees will be awarded to the parents of Angelina Martinez (BS Kinesiology) and the mother and brother of Iris Jasso (PhD Leadership Studies) from the Rio Grande Valley campus.

The posthumous degrees will be given after Judge Wolff’s commencement speech and just before the diplomas are awarded to the rest of the graduates.
