Two Dance Team members earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition

Two members of the OLLU Dance Team, Angelina Ochoa and Bianca Rodriguez, have been named National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Competitive Dance Scholar-Athletes. 

Ochoa, a sophomore from Burbank High School in San Antonio, earned a 4.0 GPA. Rodriguez, a sophomore from San Antonio’s Harlandale High School, earned a 3.83 GPA

The 2024 list honors 47 schools and 176 student-athletes , who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
