Get graduation photos on OLLU’s flickr site

Graduates and families can download photos from OLLU’s spring 2015 Commencement, including Ring Blessing and Liturgy, from OLLU’s flickr site. The photos were taken by OLLU’s Marketing and Communications Office. The professional photos that were taken during the Commencement ceremony (on stage and backstage) will be emailed directly to students from Flash Photography.

Note: Due to the volume of photos from Thursday’s ceremony, all photos will be posted by the end of the day today.

Graduating students must clear holds to receive diploma during commencement ceremony

Students who will be graduating in May are required to clear all holds/balances in order to receive a diploma during the graduation ceremony. Holds can be viewed in the Notifications section in the center column of the myOLLU portal. If a student does not have any holds or other issues, the Notifications section will not appear.

Holds can be placed for any outstanding debts owed to OLLU or any issues with the student’s account including unpaid balances on tuition and fees, citations from the University Police Department, fines owed to the University library, and charges owed to Student Life or Residence Life. Students should contact the office or department that placed the hold in order to pay off any balances or clear up any issues.

Graduating students who do not clear holds will receive a diploma jacket during the commencement ceremony and will have to clear all holds before receiving a diploma.

Note: Balances paid by check will not be removed for up to 10 business days from receipt of the check to ensure that the check clears.

Health Insurance 2015/2016 Enrollment/Registration Update

The University will no longer require proof of current health insurance* as a condition of enrollment (Exception:  Student Athletes* and International Students*).

The existing current Student Assurance Health Insurance Policy will terminate on July 31, 2015

There will be NO automatic enrollment into a health insurance plan (Exception:  International Students*).

There will be NO fee on the tuition bill (Exception:  International Students*).

There will be NO opportunity to procure health insurance through your tuition or financial aid via OLLU (Exception:  International Students*).

Individuals who currently carry the Student Assurance Insurance and who desire to have health insurance after July 31, 2015 will need to procure a new policy from the private market place, directly from Student Assurance or through the Affordable Healthcare website www.healthcare.gov.

Students are encouraged to commence research now so that a new policy can be procured and ready to go into effect August 1, 2015.

Students should select a policy that best meets their individual needs, preferences, and budget.

Students and/or parents should research options where coverage applies to their home state/county as well as where they attend school.

The 2014 Federal individual mandate requires most Americans to maintain “minimum essential” health insurance coverage.

*STUDENT ATHLETES:  Proof of current health insurance is required to participate within any OLLU Athletic program. No exceptions.

*INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:  Mandatory enrollment in Student Assurance is required and will be billed on the student’s billing statement.
