Baseball takes two of three from Ottawa in nonconference series

The OLLU baseball team took two of three games against Ottawa University (OU) this past weekend, winning the opener, 3-2, and the finale 6-1, after dropping the second game, 8-0.

In the first game, D’Artagnan Perez-Padron drove in Caimyn Holiday with a double to left in the bottom of the 9th for the game-winning RBI. 

OLLU improves to 20-20 on the season while the Braves drop to 21-18.

Baseball scores 35 runs in sweep of Texas College

The OLLU baseball team swept Texas College (TC) 14-4, 9-0 and 12-0 in a three-game series this past weekend. The Saints improve to 12-9 overall and 6-3 in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC). OLLU is 11-5 this season while playing at home.

In the opener, Devin Benavides won his NAIA-leading fifth game. Caimyn Holiday hit a grand slam in the second game. Anthony Valle and Gabriel Sandoval each drove in two runs in the third game while Esai Puente notched the win.

Saints baseball wins one of three in season opener

The OLLU baseball team won one game of a three-game series against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma at home on Jan. 26-27. The Saints are now 1-2 on the season, while the perennial powerhouse Drovers improved to 2-1

The Saints dropped the first game, 4-2, won the second, 6-5 and fell in the third, 14-5.

In the win, shortstop Caimyn Holiday went 3-for-4 at the plate, drove in two runs and scored two more for OLLU. Saints first baseman Jack Kalisky went 3-for-3 with an RBI triple. Chase Dunn threw 1 ⅓ innings of 1-hit relief and got the win.
