César E. Chávez March for Justice set for Saturday 

The Center for Service-Learning and Volunteerism invites you to join us for the César E. Chávez March for Justice on Saturday at 9 a.m.

The first 20 students to arrive will receive a free t-shirt.

VIA will be providing free Park and Ride to and from the march with free parking at the Alamodome. We will meet at the intersection of Guadalupe and Brazos and the march ends at Hemisfair Park. The morning program begins at 9 a.m. and the march will begin at 10 a.m. Look for the big OLLU banner/flag.

Time spent marching will count for volunteer hours.

‘March for Justice’ press conference set for Wednesday on Chapel steps

The Cesar Chavez Legacy and Educational Foundation (CCLEF) will hold a “March for Justice” press conference on the front steps of Sacred Heart Conventual Chapel at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

The theme for the 28th annual Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice is “Let the Spirit Flourish and Grow.” The march will begin at 9 a.m. on March 23 at the corner of South Brazos and Guadalupe Street, next to the Guadalupe Theater. 

Last year’s march featured he Castro family – alumna and former City Councilwoman Rosie Castro (BA 1971, 1975), Congressman Joaquin Castro and former U.S. Housing Secretary Julián Castro – as Grand Marshals.

OLLU to host press conference for 27th annual March for Justice on Tuesday

The César E. Chávez Educational Foundation (CECLEF) will announce the Grand Marshall Trio for its 27th annual march during a press conference on campus Tuesday at 10 a.m. President Abel A. Chávez will welcome dignitaries and visitors during the press conference which will be held on the steps of Sacred Heart Chapel.

CECLEF along with their key-partners will share details of the 27th Annual César E. Chávez March for Justice which will take place March 25.

Press conference guest speakers include OLLU alumna Dr. Lorraine Pulido, VIA Metropolitan Transit Public Relations Manager, and District 5 City Councilwoman Teri Castillo. There will be a sneak peek of entertainment with Little Joe.
