McNair Scholars working hard in Summer Research Institute

Fourteen OLLU McNair Scholars are conducting rigorous work during a nine-week Summer Research Institute in preparation for the McNair Undergraduate Research Conference, which will be held virtually at UCLA July 27-30.

Since June 1, Scholars have been conducting primary or secondary research on a broad range of topics, spanning from humanities to laboratory research to STEM. 

The McNair Scholars Summer Research Institute is designed to equip the scholars with academic discourse, research experience, graduate school prep, GRE readiness, cultural programming, and professional development.

The McNair Scholars are: junior English major Marissa Antu; sophomore Psychology major Miguel Barrera; junior Criminal Justice major Claudia Garcia; junior Biology major Raul Gutierrez; junior Chemical Biology major Victoria Lambert; junior Psychology major Samantha Martinez; senior Spanish and Mass Communication double major Laura Miguel; junior Marketing major Melanie Padron; senior Communication Sciences and Disorders major Geslyn Rios; senior Psychology major Monzerrath Rodriguez; junior Psychology and Social Work double major Sheccid Rosales; junior Kinesiology major Kaitlyn Salazar; sophomore Chemical Biology major Kelly Salinas; and senior History major Adriana Valdez.
