A new sound system for Sacred Heart Conventual Chapel

Sacred Heart Conventual has been fitted with a new sound system. The recently completed work will dramatically improve the sound quality in the 100-year-old chapel.

New features include:

  • New professional speakers and subwoofers
  • New wireless microphone system with five wireless microphones
  • Speakers specially tuned to the unique space of Sacred Heart Chapel
  • Speakers covering the balcony for the first time
  • Sound designed to cover all pew seating areas in Sacred Heart Chapel

The new system will eliminate the muffled, difficult-to-understand sound in the previous system.

The new system was funded by a gift from Otto Nelson, a strong supporter of OLLU. Nelson’s late wife, Mary Josephine McDowell (BA 1959), was an alumna. Three in-laws are alumni, as well.
