Women’s cross-country captures the Saints Collegiate Invite

The women’s cross-country team captured the Fifth Annual Saints Collegiate Cross-Country Invite on Oct. 7. The women won the meet in 2017 and placed third in 2018 and 2022 and fourth in 2019.

OLLU won the event with 24 points, followed by Trinity University with 58, Texas A&M International University 66 and Texas Lutheran University with 80 points.

Sanai Robinson broke the OLLU record in the 6k with a time of 21:55 for fourth place. The record was previously held by Nadia Sifuentes with a time of 22:35.

Viridiana Zuniga followed in fifth place with a time of 23:30, Sierra Ramirez in sixth with a time of 23:37, Leilani Leza in ninth with a time of 23:56 and Mia Curiel in 10th with a time of 24:02.

Men’s cross-country places second in Saints Collegiate Invite

The men’s cross-country team placed second at the Fifth Annual Saints Collegiate Cross-Country Invite on Oct. 7. The men came in second in 2017 and 2018, third in 2022 and fourth in 2019.

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) won the event with 37 points. OLLU followed one point behind with 38 points. Trinity University followed with 78, Texas A&M University – Kingsville with 100 and Texas Lutheran University with 116 points.

Kruz Malesich was the Saints’ top finisher with a time of 26:01 in the 8K for seventh place. JoseCarlos Hernandez came in eighth with a time of 26:03. He was followed by Anthony Perez at 26:14, Jose Saucedo at 26:16, Hector Puente at 26:18, Sebastian Moreno at 26:26, Diego Moran at 26:29, Tony Favella at 26:40, Vincent Garza at 27:03, Sigifredo Salinas at 27:25, Amancio Castilleja at 28:01, Jose Perez at 28:05, Ryan Aldana at 28:08, Robert Rios at 28:31, Dominic Alonzo at 28:38, Joshua Veliz at 29:14 and Jair Lopez at 29:26.
