Mobile Clinic, South Texas Blood and Tissue Bus here on Feb. 20, Feb. 27 

The Health Education Resource Office is hosting Betty’s Co. Mobile Clinic and the South Texas Blood and Tissue Bus on Feb. 20 and Feb. 27. 

The mobile clinics will park in Moye Circle (outside the University Wellness and Activity Center by Thiry Auditorium).

Betty’s Co. will be on campus from 9a.m. to 5 p.m. 

South Texas Blood and Tissue Bus will be on campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The university Wellness Center will host a series of health and wellness events on campus over the next few weeks. Events include:

Graduate student recognized as #BigShotOnCampus

Ana Hinojosa, a second-year graduate student in Counseling, has been recognized as a #BigShotOnCampus through the American Health Association CoVac Initiative for her efforts in increasing vaccine confidence and combating misinformation. 

Hinojosa took the lead with her fellow peer educators and coordinated a 13-week, weekly myth-busting question-and-answer survey and corresponding table events. She also coordinated and ran mobile vaccination sites. 

As a five-year member of the Health Education Resource Office, she plays a critical role in the day-to-day success of continued education efforts in regard to COVID-19 and vaccination efforts. 

Hinojosa is a work-study in the Health Education Resource Office, which is now part of the Wellness Center.

First event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month set for Tuesday

A panel discussion, “Have your boundaries been blurred? A Conversation with Student Leaders,” will mark the start of Sexual Assault Awareness Month at OLLU on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., via WebEx.

The event will feature OLLU student leaders as they talk about setting personal boundaries and cultivating a variety of healthy relationships.

OLLU is committed to ending sexual violence through education, ​prevention and advocacy. In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, OLLU Cares, Title IX and the Wellness Center are sponsoring multiple events in April. 

The OLLU community is also invited to participate in the Teal Tuesday social media campaign by wearing teal every Tuesday in April in solidarity with survivors to raise awareness of sexual assault. The community is encouraged to post their Teal Tuesday pictures with the hashtag #SAAMTealTuesdaysOLLU.
