The softball team has announced the signing of El Paso native Lauren Guerra to its 2014-2015 squad. Guerra is a graduate of Chapin High School. While at Chapin, she received Academic All-District Honors in softball in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In 2014, she received Academic All-State honors and finished in the top 10 percent of her class. In addition, she was named to the “A” Honor Roll in 2010-2011, 2011-2012 and 2013-2014. She also received the English Award this past year. Her athletic awards included First Team All-District in 2013 and in 2014. Guerra was the recipient of the highest award at Chapin in 2014 — the All-Chapin Girl — given to the female who excels both in the classroom and on the playing field.
