OLLU keeping up Fiesta tradition with Texas Cavaliers and Flambeau parades this week

As part of the Fiesta tradition, OLLU will have floats in the Texas Cavaliers River Parade and the Fiesta Flambeau Parade this week.

The Texas Cavaliers River Parade takes place tonight at 7 p.m., and will feature communication disorders students as they represent the Harry Jersig Speech and Hearing Center and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Marcheta Evans.

The Fiesta Flambeau Night Parade will take place Saturday evening. This year’s parade theme is “Three Centuries…One City,” and OLLU’s float will serve as an ode to OLLU’s place in San Antonio’s history.

OLLU’s float for the Flambeau parade has been designed and built by Liz Longoria, university events manager and Alphonso Moya, university events assistant, with the assistance of Physical Plant staff, several students and staff from the Institutional Advancement Division.

Both parades will be broadcast live on KSAT 12 News.
