University of Houston-Clear Lake professor to speak on Latinx Student Success

The OLLU community is invited to attend a presentation on “A Mosaic, Not Monolith: Psychology’s Responsibility to Latinx Student Success,” on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Main Building, Room 311.

Desdamona Rios, PhD, Associate Professor of Social Psychology and Director of Latinx and Latin American Studies at the University of Houston at Clear Lake, will be the featured speaker. 

Dr. Rios will outline the development of the first textbook dedicated to the psychology of Latinx people in the U.S., including the history of Latinx psychologists challenging intellectual imperialism and cultural insensitivity to the lived experiences of Latinx people in the United States.
