The Adelante Professional Initiative was launched in early 2023 as an exciting opportunity for employees to engage in a variety of ongoing professional development. Staff Assembly leadership has been in discussions with OLLU administration to expand on these efforts to provide designated days where OLLU offices would be allowed to close on days where students are on break, in order to focus on personal and professional growth. As announced at the Staff Assembly meeting on Nov. 28, we are pleased to share that Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, will be a designated day of Adelante Professional Development. Staff and supervisors are encouraged to collaborate and determine how departments can best take advantage by planning and selecting relevant development opportunities.
e-Cornell Adelante Professional Development Department Challenge To assist with these efforts, Staff Assembly is suggesting departments consider taking advantage of training through the e-Cornell Platform that is currently available to OLLU employees (Jan. 19, 2024 will be the last day e-Cornell is available to the OLLU community). Staff Assembly is sponsoring Crave boxes as prizes to the top three departments with Learning Path completions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 19!!!
e-Cornell Learning Opportunity Information for Supervisors The e-Cornell Platform is available to OLLU employees until Jan. 19, 2024 and can be taken advantage of on an individual basis, or departments can hold group trainings with a Blended Learning Guide to help facilitate the discussion.
Individual Approach: Please help promote this information with your employees and encourage them to take advantage of this great resource to improve their knowledge base. It would also be great if supervisors would help establish expectations or goals for participation (i.e. complete the “X” Learning Path, complete “X” of lessons or complete “X” of badges before the end of the Platform in Jan. 2024).
Facilitated Group Approach: Supervisors can also utilize the Hybrid Training Options with team meetings using the “Blending Learning Guide.” On-demand lesson time commitment (30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes). There are 14 OLLU featured Learning Paths, but supervisors can also develop a custom e-Cornell Learning Path (12 hours equivalent of modules) for their departments.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Strategic Storytelling for Advocacy and Change, Using Data to Improve Decision-Making, Artificial Intelligence. For the pay period Dec. 2-15, the deadline for supervisors to approve time sheets will be on Monday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m.
Due to the Christmas holiday schedule, hourly staff employees are reminded that if they are taking any vacation days prior to the holiday break, they must input their Vacation and Holiday hours into Self-Service Time Entry and submit for approval before departing.
Before departing for the Christmas break, biweekly staff employees will need to enter all their holiday hours for Dec. 22-29 into Self-Service Time Entry and submit for approval. This is because Payroll will have tight deadlines when returning from the Christmas break. Also, the supervisor’s deadline to approve timesheet(s) will be moved to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3 to approve timesheet(s).
Any missed days will not be paid until Jan 19, 2024.”\
