OLLU will no longer issue student refunds to a credit card account. All refunds will be through e-refund or a check sent to the student’s preferred mailing address as indicated in University records. If a mailed check is not received at the preferred address, there is a 10-business day waiting period before a replacement check can be issued.

The fastest and easiest refund method is e-refund. Students who have not signed up for e-refund can do so in the myOLLU portal:

• Click the E-Commerce button
• Accept the Financial Responsibility Policy
• Select E-Refunds
• Select Set Up Account
• Select Account Type
• Enter checking account information
• Click Continue
• Check Agree
• Click Continue

You will receive a message stating that your information has been saved.

When e-refunds are disbursed, students will receive email notification.

The Office of Academic Affairs is conducting a survey to get feedback on the Student Employment program. Student employees are encouraged to complete the survey found at this link https://ollu.formstack.com/forms/submit_to_win. Those who complete the survey will be entered to win a $20 Santikos gift card. The survey will be open through Feb. 26.

Students who plan to graduate at the end of the spring semester and take part in the May commencement ceremonies must apply for graduation by Friday with the Registrar’s Office. Students may apply online through WebAdvisor or fill out an application at the Registrar’s Office, located in the Walter Center.

The OLLU Honors Program is accepting applications for the fall 2016 semester. Current OLLU freshmen and sophomores with 30-40 hours or less may apply. Application materials are due May 10, 2016.

Requirements for current OLLU students are:

• Minimum of 3.25 GPA after completion of one semester at OLLU or equivalent.
• Interview with OLLU Honors Program Director (in-person or by phone)

• $1,000 scholarship per academic year
• Special recognition at graduation, including an Honors Program ribbon and custom medallion, recognition in the commencement bulletin, a statement on the student’s official OLLU transcript, and a seal on the student’s degree
• Special letter of recommendation to graduate and professional schools or prospective employers for Honors graduates

Despite bad weather and some technical difficulties, the CyberSaints, OLLU’s Cyber Security team, took third place at “Cyber Panoply,” a Network Security Competition held in late October.

Cyber Panoply (http://cyberpanoply.com) is a Network Security Competition where teams assess (hack) a network and also try to defend compromised machines. Teams attempt to get full control of a computer and place their “flag” on it to get points. Once a flag is set, the team must defend it from other competitors to accumulate more points.

OLLU team members are Xavier Perez, Taylor Beck, Francisco Hernandez, Yesenia Martinez, Sean Boyer, Gabriel Gozalo, Alfonso Luévano, Juan Hernandez and Daniel Corona.

OLLU students are encouraged to secure their classes, financial aid and scholarships for the spring semester by completing advising, registration and payment arrangements by Dec. 1. View the flyer for a complete list of steps to complete the registration and confirmation process.

Beginning today, students will be able to register for spring 2016 courses. Early registration runs online 7 a.m.-midnight, and in person (at the Registrar’s Office) 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

• Today – Seniors, Master’s and Doctoral students
• Tuesday – Juniors, Seniors, Master’s and Doctoral students
• Wednesday – all currently enrolled students
• Thursday – all current and new students
