The Worden Social Work Organization (WSWO) will hold the final installment of the Careers in Social Work Series, “Working with Children and Adolescents,” today at 6:30 p.m. via WebEx.

UT Health will be on campus Saturday with a mobile COVID Vaccine Clinic for children (5- to 11-years-old) and adults (12-and-older) from 1-3 p.m. in the Library Circle.
UT Health and OLLU will host a Q&A session at 12:30 p.m. in Worden No. 2. A WebEx link will be provided to view the session virtually.
There is no out-of-pocket cost for the vaccine. No insurance is required. Those who are receiving a second vaccine or booster should bring their vaccine card or image on their phone.
Children 5- to 11-years-old will need a guardian or parental signature. Those who are in close contact with an immunocompromised individual should get vaccinated to provide increased protection to loved ones.

OLLU is serving as a polling site for the March primary. Early voting begins today and continues through Feb. 25. On the ballot are primary races for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, State and U.S. Representatives and county offices.

The annual Campanas de America Valentine’s Day concert will be held at Thiry Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
The concert offers an evening of romantic music performed by Campanas de America, a renowned, 12-piece mariachi ensemble. The band (Bells of America) was founded in 1978 and named after alumna Belle Ortiz (BA 1971).
Tickets range from $15 to $30. Students, faculty and staff receive $5 off each ticket. All purchases must be made at the University Events Office located at the Durango House, Monday through Friday, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

The Stars of Blue Nation: hOLLUday Decorating event is set to begin on Thursday at 3 p.m. at various locations on campus.
Decorating will conclude at 6:30 p.m. A prayer at 6:45 p.m. will be held at Sr. Jane Ann Slater Lampost in the Mall Area. A free Thanksgiving dinner will follow at 7 p.m. in Sister Annie B’s Cafeteria.

Congratulatory graduation yard signs are available to be purchased for the Dec. 9 commencement ceremonies.
Signs will be placed on the San Antonio campus of Our Lady of the Lake University along 24th Street during commencement activities.
Emailed instructions for uploading photos will be sent to those who have purchased an order. Signs cost $30 apiece and are 18 x 24 inches. To order a sign, click here.

Orders must be placed by Nov. 30. Signs may be picked up at Freeman Coliseum following commencement ceremonies on Dec. 9.

OLLU will host its annual Veterans Day Observation Ceremony on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the Mall Area. Air Force Technical Sergeant La ‘Tron Banks will give the featured address.
The ceremony also will include a blessing and refection by OLLU doctoral candidate Dennis Rucker, a Army veteran. There also will be a moment of silence and the playing of Taps in honor of deceased veterans. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
Later in the day at 2:30 p.m., there will be an opening ceremony for the new Veterans Lounge located in Worden Building, Room 29. It will be followed by the screening of On Two Fronts: Latinos and Vietnam which will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Main Building, Room 311.
Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases throughout Texas and in an effort to keep our community safe, OLLU is again requiring face coverings/masks for all individuals on our campuses — both vaccinated and unvaccinated.
Face coverings must be worn in classrooms, hallways, meeting spaces and other common areas where unable to isolate in accordance with CDC guidance.

Upload COVID-19 vaccine record
OLLU will begin requiring weekly COVID-19 testing for individuals who have not been vaccinated against the virus. Those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine and voluntarily share their vaccine record with the university will not have to take part in weekly testing. Use the link below to voluntarily upload your record. The link also is available on the Saints Strong section of the university website which can be accessed from the “Coronavirus Updates” banner at the top of the homepage.
