OLLU’s 89th annual Candlelight is scheduled for Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Members of the community are invited to join the Candlelight choir. Rehearsals will take place in Sacred Heart Chapel on: Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at 5 p.m.
Candlelight includes an advent prayer service in Sacred Heart Chapel followed by Christmas caroling in Moye Rotunda. A reception follows the celebration. Members of the choir will perform during the prayer service and will lead the entire community in Christmas carols in the Rotunda. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees and CDPs are invited to join the choir.
The 88th annual Candlelight celebration is scheduled for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The entire university community is invited to take part in this kick-off of the Advent and Christmas seasons.
The celebration begins with an Advent prayer service in Sacred Heart Chapel. It is followed by a procession to Moye Rotunda for Christmas caroling by candlelight. Following the caroling, there will be a reception with tamales, cookies and hot chocolate. You won’t want to miss how beautiful Sacred Heart Chapel and Moye Rotunda look.

OLLU will kick off the holiday season this week with a variety of events.
hOLLUday Community Tree Decorating and Lighting Decorating: Tuesday at Noon-2 p.m. in the Mall Area The university community is invited to decorate an ornament and add it to the university tree.
Blessing, Lighting, and Caroling: Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. in the Mall Area The University Choir will serenade participants during the official lighting and blessing of the tree.
87th Annual Candlelight Advent Prayer Service Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel All are invited to a candlelit Advent Prayer Service in the chapel followed by Christmas caroling by candlelight in the Moye Rotunda. Refreshments will be served.
Snowball Winter Formal Thursday in the Mall Area This winter dance is hosted by Residence Life.
Las Posadas Friday at 6 p.m. in front of Annunciation Chapel  OLLU’s 39th annual Las Posadas is a re-enactment of Mary and Joseph’s search for lodging in Bethlehem on the eve of the birth of Jesus. The procession will begin at Annunciation Chapel and continue to the steps of the Convent Building, Main Building and Moye Hall. It will conclude with a celebration in Chapel Auditorium featuring entertainment and refreshments.

The 86th annual Candlelight celebration for students, faculty, staff and families will be held on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The event begins with an Advent Prayer Service in Sacred Heart Chapel. It will be followed by a candlelight procession to the Moye Rotunda for Christmas caroling. The event will conclude with a university Christmas social in the Sister Annie B’s Cafeteria. The OLLU tradition offers the campus community a time to reflect on this year’s theme, “Living the Legacy.”
