OLLU cross-country runner Jonathan Yanez ran the Austin Half-Marathon on Feb. 16 and he finished in sixth place overall. Yanez ran the marathon in attempt to qualify for the NAIA Marathon that is hosted at the NAIA Track Meet in May. Yanez hit a “B” Standard for qualifying for the marathon. His sixth place finish was among 3,944 runners from all over the world. Yanez’s time of 1:12:57.00 ranks 24th in the entire NAIA for the half marathon. He is the first individual at OLLU to hit a qualifying standard for any event at the NAIA Track Meet. Read full story online.
