8th Annual Confetti 5K Run and Walk a big success 

OLLU concluded its 8th annual Confetti 5K Run & Walk on Saturday with Forest Isenhour and Bethany Iniguez winning top overall medal honors amid a shower of confetti at the finish line.

Isenhour, a former track and cross country runner at Western Michigan University, finished with the top overall time of 15 minutes and 52 seconds. Iniguez, a competitive local runner, finished first overall among women in 22:42.

An official Fiesta event, the 5K race featured music, food and drink vendors and runners from across the metropolitan area, who started and finished the race in front of OLLU’s historic Main Building.

“We had another amazing Confetti 5K that brought together so many people from across Bexar County,” said OLLU president Abel Chávez, PhD, MBA. “This was a fantastic way to start Fiesta! Best of all, we were able to raise money for student scholarships.”

8th Annual Confetti 5K Run and Walk set for April 20

The 8th annual Confetti 5K Run and Walk to benefit OLLU scholarships will be held on Saturday, April 20, in the plaza in front of Main Building. The run/walk kicks off at 9 a.m.

Registration is $20 for OLLU students, faculty and staff through April 6 with a promo code. The cost for OLLU alumni is $25 with a promo code. To get promo codes, email elongoria@ollusa.edu. 

On April 7, registration will increase to $30. 

There is no registration fee for kids 12-and-under. Registration for everyone else is $35. Registration ends on April 12.

Seventh Annual Confetti 5K Run & Walk a rousing success

The 7th Annual 5K Confetti Run & Walk concluded on Saturday with cannon blasts of colorful confetti, the presentation of awards and a host of excited runners and walkers.

An official Fiesta event, the 5K race attracted more than 800 participants and raised money for student scholarships.

“This was an outstanding event – not only for OLLU and the West Side but for the City of San Antonio,” said OLLU President Abel Chávez, MBA, PhD. “The 5K Confetti Run & Walk attracted people from across the metropolitan area. I am thrilled with the turnout, the enthusiasm and, of course, the money we raised for student scholarships.”

More than 800 runners and walkers participated. Medals were awarded to the top three finishers in each age group.
